Hoboken "Gospel" Chapel
"Gospel" Definition: the glad tidings [or the good news] of salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Hoboken Gospel Chapel is a independent, Bible trusting, Spirit led, local Christian "church or assembly" of believers where Jesus is proclaimed Lord and Savior.
"Church or Assembly" [Greek] ekklesia ek-klay-see'-ah Definition: a company or gathering of Christians who have found eternal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
We are a loving family-friendly church where all seeking a closer relationship to the God of the Christian Holy Bible will be warmly welcomed. Our gathering is as diverse as the community we serve. We are of one mind in our love for the Lord Jesus Christ, each other and His Holy Word.
Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Our simple services seek to be faithful to New Testament Church patterns and teachings including: salvation by faith in Jesus Christ' finished work on the cross alone, worshiping God in Spirit and in Truth, the weekly Breaking of Bread (Lord's Supper), Water Baptism by immersion, Gospel Messages, Bible teaching and a plurality of pastor/elder leadership.
Do you want to know more about the God created you and His plan of reconciliation, forgiveness and salvation through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ? Consider this a personal invitation to come and hear the Lord's Gospel of Peace and meet ordinary (imperfect) people who seek truth, light and love.
John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Let us grow together in the knowledge of Him (who died so we may live).
John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.
Let me tell you a true story about, "A Message In The Sand".
Have you ever found a seashell on a beach? Many of you have no doubt found some beautiful specimens. I have found many dozens myself and keep them displayed in a large wicker basket in my home.
I found a very special shell in the middle of Virginia Beach on Easter Sunday 2008 when visiting my family. Let me just say as a precursor that our God can do anything and He is in total control of all things. I really needed some encouragement as I lamented over the fact that my family did not share my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I had tried many things over the last five years that I thought would help convince them but nothing seemed to work. On this trip I finally stopped trying and left it to the Lord which I wish I had done long ago.
At this most recent visit, we attended a sunrise service near the beach on Easter morning but I could tell (once again) that the loving Gospel that we heard had not illuminated my dear ones to their need for the Savior. Later that evening before sundown I suggested that my niece, nephew and son go to the beach with me to mess around before Easter dinner. Virginia Beach is huge and is very long and very wide. We played and ran around on the sand for about an hour. It was right before dusk so there were very few people out and we had almost the entire beach to ourselves. We were in the middle of that very wide beach when I saw my niece drawing circles in the sand. I immediately thought, "Wouldn’t it be nice if someone on Easter Sunday had written the name of "Jesus" in the sand". Suddenly, an idea popped into my head. I gathered the kids around me and said, "Let's play a new game. Let's look down at the sand and try and find the funniest looking footprint or something like that".
We lined up shoulder-to-shoulder and started to look down as we walked slowly forward. We saw human footprints, bird footprints, and dog footprints. After about thirty seconds, I noticed something strange. A tiny dot of reddish color under the sand caught my eye. I reached down and pulled a small, paper thin, very fragile shell from under the sand. It was odd finding a shell in the middle of the beach when most were located near the waters edge. I picked it up and immediately knew that something wonderful and amazing had just happened. We knelt down and I showed my find to the children.
The shell we found had something painted on it in red and black and had little sequins glued underneath. The words read, “I Love you Jesus” with a little black and red cross. Here is a picture of the front of the shell, we found.
